Provision of Equipment for Home-Based Beauty Salons
01Dec’22
In line with the organization’s role in supporting marginalized groups in Jerusalem and strengthening their resilience, the Volunteer for Hope Organization distributed essential equipment and tools on 1/12/2022 to women in the home-based beauty salon group as part of the Empowering Jerusalemite Entrepreneurs project. A total of eight women benefited from this initiative, receiving necessary equipment, tools, and materials to help establish or develop their beauty salon businesses. Additionally, three beneficiaries received specialized training in beauty, hairstyling, and makeup.
The projects include home-based salons offering hair styling and makeup services, as well as specialized salons for nails and pedicure services. These salons were established in various Jerusalem neighborhoods: Silwan, Wadi al-Joz, Beit Hanina, Batn al-Hawa, Al-Thuri, Turbet al-Sawahra, and Ras al-Amud. The organization identified the beneficiaries’ needs by assessing their current projects and technical skills, based on a thorough needs analysis.
Through this initiative, the organization aims to empower these women entrepreneurs to generate income to support their families, or contribute to their household’s income, without needing to endure harsh or unfair working conditions. It is expected that these women will be able to sustain and quickly grow their businesses, relying on the projected demand in the areas where their projects have been established.
