30Jun’22
As part of the “Empowering Jerusalem Women Entrepreneurs” project, Volunteer for Hope organization launched a specialized training program in entrepreneurship and small business management, which ran from February 21 to June 30, 2022, in Jerusalem. The program aimed to enhance participants’ skills by providing practical knowledge and comprehensive skills that enable them to succeed in the job market.
The program included 12 training sessions delivered through an interactive, participatory approach focused on building the participants’ capacities based on their real needs. Practical exercises and examples were used to strengthen understanding and relate it to real-life applications. The training covered essential topics, including strategic planning for small businesses, business management, marketing, sales management, legal aspects, financial management, taxation, time management, and packaging skills, to empower Jerusalem women entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses.
The sessions were held in the halls of Shihab College and the Palestinian Thought Forum on Salah Al-Din Street, a centrally accessible area via public transportation and distanced from politically active locations to ensure the participants’ safety. Each training session lasted three hours, with the program structured to accommodate participants’ schedules and allow for in-depth engagement with the content.
