Unemployed University Graduate with Ambitions – Ibrahim Ma’arouf
26Sep’24
Ibrahim Maarouf, a young man from Anata Refugee Camp in Jerusalem, was seeking employment to support his family of seven. To assist his family in meeting their needs, he started a small stall in Shuafat Camp to sell fresh juices and cold drinks in the area. Ibrahim operates the stall under a canopy for long hours.
He applied for a grant from the “Forsa” program provided by the organization, aimed at supporting food manufacturing projects. The project’s idea was to set up a kiosk for selling drinks, cocktails, and fresh juices, along with some equipment and tools to help him sustain and develop his business.
Ibrahim was selected and approved for the grant according to the required criteria. The grant, not exceeding $8,000, was provided to help him develop his project. Since the cost of setting up and manufacturing the kiosk exceeded the grant amount, the organization covered part of the kiosk’s cost as an initial payment. Ibrahim is committed to paying the remaining balance from the profits of the kiosk.
