Volunteer for Hope organization concluded the “Future Makers” camp today, Wednesday, January 8, 2020, under the slogan “Jerusalem is Ours.” This initiative aims to enhance Palestinian identity and protect Jerusalemite children from various social dangers. VHO focuses its programs on children, youth from the city, women, individuals with disabilities, and marginalized families.
This camp is part of the organization’s efforts to support and empower youth and students in secondary stages. A meeting was previously held in Jericho to organize the camp, based on an initiative by several leaders and community and educational stakeholders in Jerusalem.
The “Future Makers” camp aimed to instill identity and shape the personalities of participating students by focusing on developing their mental and intellectual abilities while distancing them from social media networks and electronic devices. The use of mobile phones was prohibited as a condition for participation, allowing participants to acquire new life skills and awareness of the importance of time, better preparing them to face challenges and build a brighter future.
This initiative reflects the commitment of VHO to support the solidarity of the Jerusalem community and enhance the spirit of belonging and leadership among youth.
